The 20 Second Game Jam

So I've entered the 20 second game jam 2025 (https://itch.io/jam/20-second-game-jam-2025).
I'm going to re-use a lot of the assets from the other game I'm developing (https://hammersprite.itch.io/the-caves-of-gordaraella) as well as some news ones.
This game will involve guiding a head down a pit to get to the bottom. You'll get points along the way although I'm not sure what this point scoring system will look like as yet.
Attached to the the game page is a screenshot of how far I have come so far.
I've not only re-used some of the art, but also some of the code. One of the benefits of making your code decoupled(I'll do a walk through next week) is that it makes it easier to re-use in other projects as well as easier to change in the current project.
The idea is that over time you build up a library of re-usable assets which will shorten your game development.
Anyway what attracted me to the 20 second game jam is the scope (or significantly reduced scope!).
As the hosts of the jam point out scope is a killer for the indie game developer, so reducing the scope of the game allows you to acheive getting a game to market (they are free but you know what I mean).
Doing this also allows me to test out some of my game mechanics, and pixel art to see what people think. It's also not a bad way of marketing my other game. I see this as a bit of a loss leader.
Anyway we'll see if I can get something done by the end of the jam sesson (early dec), and see what happens after that!
